Cuppa

by Kathryn McKenzie

Upon the shelf, a gilded lily blossoms.
Fill her up,
she clinks and dances.
Warmth of a summer’s day
radiates through enamel.
Earl Grey essence rises.
Lavender tendrils drift
from scalloped sea-glass to pursed lips,
kissing her faded regal circlet,
imbibe spiced splendor.
Another sip,
my soul brims.
